The strange thing about Black Emanuelle (spelled with one “m” to avoid lawsuits from the Emmanuelle franchise) is that she wasn’t black. The actress Laura Gemser was Eurasian, born in Indonesia. Strangely she is not credited on the poster and is instead listed just as “Emanuelle.” Also, Italian director Adalberto “Bitto” Albertini is credited as “Albert Thomas” probably to make the whole thing seem less foreign.
