THE FRESH FACE: SAM ROLLINSON

The latest segment in CR’s ongoing series profiling fashion’s rising stars

For her debut season, Sam Rollinson earned a coveted spot as a Balenciaga Spring 2013 runway exclusive (which also happened to be the last collection by Nicolas Ghesquière). For Fall 2013, things only got better. “Doing so many shows last season was very unexpected,” says Rollinson. It was one for the books, indeed. The catwalker from Yorkshire appeared in 64 Fall 2013 shows, including Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Saint Laurent, and Valentino. When she’s not on the runway or shooting ad campaigns (she’s currently starring in the Balenciaga Spring campaign), the Brit (known for her razor sharp cheekbones and chic ‘do ) likes to hone her culinary talents. “I really like baking,” she admits. Here, Rollinson gives us a taste of her world.



FIRST LOOK “My first memory of fashion? Wearing cute party dresses when I was little.”

TOP TIP “On catwalk strutting: Don’t think about it too much. It’s easy to over complicate something as simple as walking when you know hundreds of people will be watching you.”



BEAUTY BAG “I wouldn’t call it a trick, but I put lip balm on religiously.”
