I like keeping up to date with interesting tech news from time to time, and something came up recently that I thought was worth sharing. Not really because of the tech aspect, but becasue of the human one: it shows how being callous and needlessly ideological can really come back and bite you on the butt.

The consequences for all involved has been pretty severe, but hopefully this will mean others aren't so gung ho about such trivial things in the future. What are your thoughts on this?
