Sony announces Jak and Daxter Trilogy coming to PS Vita this June

Despite what the sales figures might imply, the general consensus is that, for the most part, the PlayStation Vita's a neat portable console -- although some still argue Sony could do a little more to give its precious handheld a boost when it comes to available content. And just as it did with the PS3, the Japanese electronics maker has now announced that a remastered collection of Jak and Daxter is headed to the PS Vita as well, which includes Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II and Jak 3. The trilogy's said to be debuting on the PlayStation Vita at some point in June of this year for $29.99 in North America, or a corresponding €29.99 for those located across the pond in Europe. Not too bad a price to pay for some nostalgia-filled gaming sessions, eh?

Spindle discovery app for iPhone adds keywordbased search alerts, spreads to more US cities

The Spindle for iPhone application is known for making it a breeze to discover nearby restaurants, bars and other local spots by racking up social network updates instead of, you know, check-ins. In its second major installment, Spindle's now brought keyword-based search and notifications to the app, allowing iPhone users to quickly find and get informed about places they are more likely to be attracted to based on their specific interests. What's more, Spindle is now making its social, location-based discovery services available in Austin, Chicago and Seattle, which join New York City, Boston and San Francisco as cities where Spindle is available. Folks in any of the aforementioned areas can grab Spindle 2.0 from the App Store now, and be sure to let us know if it's one that'll be seen permanently on that "social" folder of yours.

PSA Microsoft Surface Pro now available in the US and Canada

After missing initial shipping plans with some undisclosed delays, and despite seeing its welcome party in NYC abolished by a storm dubbed Nemo, Microsoft's finally started the process to make that long-awaited Surface Pro available to the masses. Starting with US and Canada residents, those seeking Redmond's in-house hardware and a full serving of Windows 8 can now snag a Surface Pro starting at $899 for the 64GB model, while the more spacious 128GB unit is slightly costlier at $999. And while these prices do include Microsoft's pressure-sensitive pen, they don't account for any other fancy accessories, which means potential buyers will have to shell out a little extra cash if a Touch or Type Cover are of interest -- more specifically, $120 and $130, respectively. We'll see how Ballmer and Co. cope with demand this time around, but as history would kindly note, it's probably best to be one of the first in line just to be extra, extra safe.
