Hi. I'm 21. I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil and always wanted to become an artist, a concept artist to be specific. I deeply regret this now.
It seems, that no matter how hard I try, how many sites I use to promote my art (deviantart, tumblr) people simply ignore them. I get a few likes or views, but someone commenting on them is very rare. The only reason why my works on deviantart get a decent amount of views, is because I submit them to groups.
Even my teachers in college avoid me. A few months ago, everyone in our class had to make a presentation about our works and when it was my turn, they just said "good, you can draw very well". Despite of this, I've got a very bad grade! This just doesn't makes sense to me. If my art is so bad, why can't they tell me? Why lie? Or is it just boring?
I'm pretty sure something is wrong with my... "style". Otherwise, people would react to my work.
I've got to the point where I wouldn't mind if someone told me "hey girl, this sucks".
Two days ago, I made a drawing for a friend, who is an artist herself and quite popular. She posted it on her blog at it got plenty of likes, but not because it was my work; the drawing was about one of her characters, the one she dedicated her blog to.
No one is interested in my characters, my stories.
I tried to ask for feedback, multiple times, with no avail.
If anyone here could tell me what am I doing wrong, I'd appreciate it.
