Years ago, when I had enemies I used to be scared of them and let them walk all over me.
Nowadays when someone is nasty to me, I just continue to be nice towards them by saying things like "Have a nice day :)" and usually it makes them shut up, or they just give up and realise that I'm not bothered by their behavior.
