Listen to Lauryn Hill's "Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix)"

Lauryn Hill releases her first new single in three years: "Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix)."

It's been a few years since we heard anything new from former Fugees member Lauryn Hill (remember 2010's "Repercussions"?), but according to a new blog post on her Tumblr, she's "immediately" required by her new relationship with Sony to release a new single, "Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix)."

"Here is a link to a piece that I was 'required' to release immediately, by virtue of the impending legal deadline. I love being able to reach people directly, but in an ideal scenario, I would not have to rush the release of new music… but the message is still there."

So, yes, Lauren might still be in a tax bind (she recently paid off about $900,000), and yes, she may have signed on to work with Sony as a way to pay off said taxes, and YES, maybe she's feeling a little rushed, but at least Lauren can rest easy that her new fire-spitting single is, well, great. Consider those taxes paid! (But good luck at your hearing today, bb.)

Set to a crashing, cascading line of harp-like notes and uneven drumbeats, "Neurotic Society" could either be the "Doo Wop (That Thing)" singer's run-of-the-mill laundry list of complaints with society, corruption and whatnot, but really it just sounds like a bottled up stream of consciousness that's been unleashed for the first time in years. "We're living in a joke time, metaphorical coke time/ Commerce and guru men, run the whole world man, old world brutality/ Cold world kills softly, whole world runs savagely/ Reading into prior things, program TV screens/ Quick scam and drag queens, real likely to blast fiends/ Think twice and past dreams, crime if you ask clean/ Quick fast, the poison has entered the blood stream," spits Lauren.

Yep, clearly Ms. Hill's got a lot on her mind. And do we blame her? Of course not. But do we believe in her never-ending ability to rise above? Absolutely. As long as Lauryn's got something to say, we'll always listen.

Watch Janelle Monae and Erykah Badu's funky new "Q.U.E.E.N." video.

Janelle Monáe twerks it out in something fierce in her brand-new "Q.U.E.E.N." video.

HOO boy. We THOUGHT we knew what it was to miss soul-funk pioneer Janelle Monáe in the time between 2010's The ArchAndroid and her upcoming sophomore effort, The Electric Lady. We also felt another twinge of "we need more Janelle solo stuff!" after her appearance on fun.'s "We Are Young." But now, after watching Janelle's hyper-stylish, black-and-white video for her powerful Erykah Badu-assisted jam "Q.U.E.E.N.," we are ENTIRELY aware of just empty life was without Janelle and her unbeatable tuxedo-ed swagger.

Watch Janelle Monáe featuring Erykah Badu's "Q.U.E.E.N." video after the jump.

Directed by Alan Ferguson (Solange's boyfriend!), "Q.U.E.E.N." depicts Janelle and Erykah (aka "Badula Oblongata") as frozen human sculptures in what could easily pass for an interactive Soho pop-up art gallery. As "Q.U.E.E.N."'s funk-tinged bass line kicks in, the sculptures flicker to life with Janelle twerking in her chair (seriously, best "chair dance" we've ever seen) and singing about haters and their snap judgements: "I can't believe all of the things they say about me/ Walk in the room they throwing shade left to right."

Backed by an aesthetically stunning bevy of mod '60s dancers, Janelle finally sidles up to a queen-like Erykah Badu, who's looking terribly regal in all white and gold. Together, they sing about female equality ("Baby, here comes the freedom song") and loving oneself despite social pressure ("But you gotta testify/ Because the booty don't lie").

Aaaand we're dead. Join Janelle's perfectly mod dance party below, and look out for The Electric Lady this fall.

Check out these behind the scenes photos of Pierce The Veil on set of their "Bulls In The Bronx" video.

Pierce The Veil take us behind the scenes of their "Bulls In The Bronx" video.

From the creepy kids in "Chemical Kids And Mechanical Brides" to doing their best Bonnie and Clyde impression in "King For A Day," San Diego hardcore outfit Pierce The Veil have topped themselves time and again with their high-concept, cinematic videos. That's why these photos from the set of their "Bulls In The Bronx" video, off their Collide With The Sky LP, have us speculating SO HARD. What could they possibly be doing? We think they may be dancing? What?! Like, not swinging arms and jump-kick dancing, but, like, choreographed dancing?

Are those Mariachi outfits hanging up? We sense a theme coming!

Singer Vic Fuentes shed a little light on any possible dance moves and how sensual their new video would be: "'Bulls In The Bronx' is definitely the sexiest video we've ever released thanks to the help of our beautiful Spanish dancer and some expert choreographing by our director Drew Russ." Russ, who also directed their "King For A Day" clip, also provided some hints about the concept: "I really wanted to have a story people could relate to, as well as have a fun supernatural element to fit the bridge of the song. To me, this is such a stand out song, and when the bridge hits, it almost transports the listener to another place. I really wanted to represent that on camera." Supernatural elements? Does that mean ghosts? Demons? Sounds pretty gnar. Check out more behind-the-scenes video shoot photos below!

Demi Lovato got accosted by fans at LAX!

Demi Lovato dutifully took an iPhone selfie with two Lovatics at LAX.

You know how it is being a pop star (OK, maybe you don't know, but try to imagine for a sec): You're shuttled from place to place, morning show to morning show, concert to concert, hotel to hotel -- things get exhausting! And even though your eyes are basically plastered shut from makeup and fatigue, you're ALWAYS expected to smile like the flawless, giving person you are when fans recognize you in public. You may even be cajoled into taking impromptu phone selfies with them. But it won't be like taking impromptu airplane selfies with, say, Gwyneth Paltrow, who you'd perk up from ANY level of exhaustion to pose with; sometimes being recognized in public gets a little out of hand! For example, when Demi Lovato ran into a pair of overzealous Lovatics at LAX. Way to smile through the pain, Dem!

Demi Lovato got accosted by fans at LAX!

One goes in for the hug...

Snapped walking through LAX in Los Angeles, Demi was straight up accosted by a couple of wayyyy over-the-top Lovatics who just HAD to get an iPhone selfie with the "Heart Attack" singer. Luckily, Demi kept her wits about her and played along for a few photos before gently pushing the girls aside so she could go about her business. As uncomfortable as Demi's moment looked, it could've been way worse -- she could've been overrun by a hoard of fans like Justin Bieber, One Direction, or The Wanted! It could've been a "get in the car or get killed" situation! But still, maybe Demi had just exited a plane and needed to hydrate. Maybe she was on her way to purchase an overpriced airport sandwich and a too-big bottle of water. Or a Cinnabon! All we know is, celebrities have needs, too. And under most circumstances, if you run into them, it's probably just better to smile, compliment their shoes, say "LOVE YOUR WORK," and mooooove on.

Chris Brown falls for a mob boss's daughter in his latest video for "Fine China."

Chris falls for a mafia boss' daughter in his latest video for "Fine China."

It's no secret that Chris Brown has partly modeled his music after the King of Pop: Michael Jackson. He's listed MJ as his "greatest influence" numerous times -- an influence that is ALL over Chris' latest video, "Fine China," from his upcoming sixth studio album, X . Taking place in a "Looper"- like future, Chris dates a mafia boss' daughter against the don's wishes (and you can imagine how well that goes over for Breezy).

Watch Chris Brown's "Fine China" video after the jump.

As "Fine China" kicks off, Chris rolls up to a lavish house in a Lamborghini, while inside an infuriated father (and Triad mob boss AND the Dharma Initiative guy from "LOST"!!) lectures his daughter about her "outsider" boyfriend. Guess no one ever told the boss that the worst thing he could do was to FORBID his daughter from seeing Chris, because no sooner are the words out of his mouth does his daughter march out of her house and back into Chris' arms. (That's Dating a Bad Boy 101.) The two speed off into the neo-futuristic city and show up to a club ready to have a great time, but of course, some mobsters show up to split them up. Chris has no choice but to take them all on at once (with some interspersed dancing, of course, á la "Smooth Criminal" or "Bad"). While Chris does a good job of handling the goons, he suddenly ends up in a standoff with his girl's dad and his entire gang. While we can't say how it's going to end for Chris and his star-crossed love, but we can say it's better to see him beefing with mafia bosses in music videos than with rappers IRL. Keep it fictional, Breezy!
