Are you getting the fundamentals correct?

What I am about to tell you, some people may disagree with, however if you disagree, ask yourself it you really believe I am wrong or whether you are making excuses.

I believe the 3 fundamentals which will positively help your SA and provide a good platform to overcome SA are: Sleep, Exercise and Diet. If you can get these 3 factors to a good standard and be consistent, over time you should see improvements. The level of improvement will depend on what you currently do in theses area at the moment.

Sleep

You should get between 7 - 9 hours of sleep a night. This will help bring the following benefits to you life:

- Improved concentration and reduce struggling through your day

- Improved mood

- Improved judgement, problem solving and decision making

- Less fatigue during the day

Exercise

Exercise is a great tool for improving your mood, helping fight depression and increasing your energy levels. The benefits:

- Increased stamina and energy over time

- Improved mood and reduce depression due to the release of endorphin's

- Improved self esteem

- Health benefits such as longer life span.

If you are not exercising regularly then this should be a major concern. I would recommend at least 30 minutes of moderately intense exercise a day such as running, cycling, football etc.

Diet

Your diet is important as what you eat can affect your mood and energy levels. You should start changing your diet to a healthy one if not already, with a reduction in anxiety prone foods like sugar and caffeine. Information about how you can change you diet can be found online. You also need to drink enough water each day to keep you from being dehydrated which can make you tired.

If you improve your diet to a far more healthier one the benefits will include:

- Improved mood

- Improved energy levels

- Increased self esteem

- Health benefits

If you seriously want to improve your SA I think some of you will need to make some significant changes to your lifestyle. Some of you are not seeing any improvement or very slow improvement, and if you don't want to continue getting these results then you need to change things.

The only person who can overcome SA is yourself. I believe changing these 3 simple things can have a good impact on your SA and after a month the new routines will become normal to you so stick with it, and your motivation will continue as you start seeing results.

This will then give you a good platform to improve your CBT, start other routines like meditation and just have energy and confidence to start doing things!

I am going to start doing this myself. Anyone else want to join me?
