Vimeo and The Lincoln Motor Company present: Hello, Again

As you may well know on account of the vicious rumors going round the Internet, we at Vimeo get pretty pumped up when creative people are given the power to make amazing work that they believe in. We’ll do pretty much anything to help people realize their visions, whether they spring from deep personal introspection or are the product of careful analysis of our modern times. And in this case, anything involves partnering with a legendary car company!

So, yes: our latest vision-realization endeavor is a collaborative one. We knocked noggins with the Lincoln Motor Company to commission films from four of Vimeo’s leading creators: Eliot Rausch, Becky & Joe, Jeff Frost, and Lucy McRae.

The filmmaking brief was incredibly open. The filmmakers were asked to make a feature that represents their personal interpretation of Hello, Again , a theme which explores the notion of reimagining and invites people to see everything old and familiar as new again. The filmmakers also were asked to create an introduction to their piece, and provide a peek at what happened behind the scenes.

We are extremely proud to announce that the Hello, Again series is launching on Vimeo today with four introductory videos — one from each filmmaker. The filmmakers each mined a topic of his or her choosing within the overall theme, and thus the work delves into diverse topics: from swallowable perfume to analog cinema techniques; from the galaxy in which we live to the age of distraction in which we also live.

The first feature, Eliot Rausch’s “Get Back,” will debut on Vimeo next week, and one feature will be released each subsequent week, along with its accompanying behind-the-scenes material. We encourage you to ogle these exceptional creative visions, share the daylights out of them, and, if you’ve got your own perspective on Hello, Again, put it on Vimeo!
