A family's idyllic life is interrupted when the father is killed while defending the family from an intruding bear. Asserting victory, the bear moves into the house and assumes the role of father for himself. Once his foot is in the door, however, he finds himself implicated in a family dynamic he did not expect.
Another started as a senior thesis at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2008 and was completed at the California Institute of the Arts, where I'm currently studying in the Experimental Animation department. All animation is colored pencil on paper, scanned into Photoshop and composited in After Effects. I currently has a giant box full of colored-pencil ends that he hopes MoMA will consider taking for their permanent collection.

We are pleased beyond any reasonable measure to announce a new partnership between Vimeo and Film4.
One of Britain’s most treasured creative institutions since its launch in 1982, Film4 is an extraordinary channel that has provided space for some of the world’s most exciting filmmakers to make their best work. The channel has earned a reputation not only for making irreverent and challenging films, but also for developing new talent and passionately supporting directors by enabling them to make the films they really want to make. From Trainspotting and Shaun of the Dead to Four Lions and Slumdog Millionaire, the list of modern classics that has come out of the production house is astounding.
In 2011 Film4 launched Film4.0, a new department set up to explore innovation in filmmaking. We have watched closely as the team has signed up some of our favorite filmmakers on Vimeo, including Shynola, Jonathan Entwistle, and Kibwe Tavares.
We thought about all this for a while and decided we simply had to jump into bed with these people, metaphorically, at least. And, we’re pleased to say, they were up for the jumping!
Anna Higgs, head of Film4.0, put it best: “We’re constantly looking for new ways to reach audiences, so it makes total sense to partner with Vimeo to bring these films to as many people as possible online. We can’t wait for audiences to discover them.”
And so, in order to facilitate that discovery, the next two short films from Film4.0 will be released right here on Vimeo. The first one, Kibwe Tavares’s darkly magical Jonah, just launched today, so you can watch it right now!
